Dussehra (Maha Navami)
Dussehra, (also known as Vijayadashmi), is a significant Indian festival. As per Hindu calendar it is observed on the 10th day of the bright half (Shukla Paksha) in the month of Ashvin (Ashwayuja). It is a gazetted holiday in India.
The occasion commemorates the prevalence of good over evil and is celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervour all over India.
